Susan M. Evans believes that if you wake each day filled with gratitude and grace, your potential for the rest of the day is endless.

“You can spearhead all that comes your way with a positive attitude and give it your all!” she acknowledges.

The vice-president of equipment marketing and supply chain at Benco Dental began her career with the company 35 years ago upon returning to the area after being deployed to Fort Polk, Louisiana, to support her husband who served in the US Army.

“My husband became disabled from an accident incurred during a military exercise and it was time for me to step up and support our family,” she explained.

That is when she discovered Benco Dental, a family-owned company and a culture that suited her personally. “I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given to grow at Benco,” she acknowledges.

Most of her career at Benco has been managing departments directly related to the equipment side of the company, including equipment returns and ordering processing, The CenterPoint Customer Experience, building strong vendor partnerships, equipment marketing and supply chain, The Digital Dentistry (Cad Cam) and The Software and IT Solutions departments.

Her mentor has been Larry Cohen, son of Benco’s founder, and he has presented her with many challenges as a female growing up in the business.

The business woman attributes her success to having the ability to be fair and balanced as a leader and partner both internally and externally in customer centric focused business.

Evans believes a great deal of her success is derived from working beside her amazing and committed team members whom she cherishes every single day. “There is nothing more amazing than to see a team who will drive amazing results and genuinely care about their teammates success. It’s a beautiful thing to be a part of! I am incredibly proud and honored to work with so many strong and talented professionals,” she adds.

Her husband and forever soulmate Martin, of almost 40 years has always been the one to push her which brought out her strongest attributes. The couple has three children , Marty, Mandy, and Joeleen, along with grandchildren, Blake, Lucas, Noah, and Lexi who are their greatest joys and pride.

Her mother, Grace, who recently lost her hard-fought battle with cancer has shown her daughter what it means to be strong and persevere through obstacle ; and her second mother, Aunt Carol, who taught her that everyone has something positive to give and to love unconditionally and without judgement.

Evans was the first employee internally at her company to receive the Lucy Hobbs Award for perseverance.

She was recently nominated to receive Benco’s Annual Merit award given to individuals who have contributed significantly to Benco’s success during that year.

She also led the development of the company’s “CenterPoint Experience” providing dental professionals a hands-on experience with fully functional dental equipment.
