Penn State Scranton Business Services Director Gene Grogan recently delivered personal protective equipment donated by the campus to Geisinger Community Medical Center and Commonwealth Health Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton.

Penn State Scranton recently donated personal protective equipment to two local hospitals, Geisinger Community Medical Center and Commonwealth Health Moses Taylor Hospital, to help them during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Supplies donated included 6,650 pairs of gloves, 250 hospital gowns, 150 surgical masks, and 25 face shield masks. The items were gathered from the campus’ science and nursing program labs, since Penn State has moved to remote delivery of its courses for the remainder of the spring semester and these items will not be needed.

“During this challenging time, our campus wanted to do our part to help our local medical facilities and the medical professionals working there,” said Dr. Marwan Wafa, Penn State Scranton chancellor.
