Deb Stone

Deb Stone is inspired by the people with whom she surrounds herself, and strives to inspire others both in work and in life.

As principal designer and owner of Deb Stone Interiors LLC, Deb Stone’s responsibilities are quite dynamic. She meets with commercial building owners, business owners and managers to determine what their renovation, addition or new build project entails.

She and her team develop project parameters and establish a project budget. They study their client’s company brand, physical environment purpose and function, and any aesthetic goals and preferences to develop a customized design.

Deb and her team work closely with contractors, project managers, and vendors in following the project through the building process and ultimately to achieve the approved design successfully.

“What I love about my work is that our design projects are diverse, our collaborative process is invigorating, and no two days are ever the same. The variation of project types and our multi-faceted approach to creating commercial interiors makes our work days interesting and enjoyable, and keeps me and my design team energized,” she explains.

She achieved a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Bloomsburg University and master of arts degree in public administration with a concentration in health care administration from Marywood University. She worked as a licensed nursing home administrator for 10 years before returning to Marywood University for coursework to pursue a new career in interior design.

Her mentors are her colleagues, including interior designers, architects, engineers, other business owners, and construction project managers, as all have their unique perspective that they share with her. “Collaborating with these industry professionals has fostered my greater understanding of my role as a business owner, and has created invaluable friendships throughout the years,” said Stone.

She attributes her success as a principal designer and business owner to the relationships she has formed over the years in both her personal life and professional experiences. “I often reflect on the people and situations I have encountered along the way, my colleague’s management approaches, their suggestions and their quotes, the building of our design team with their diverse talents and endless creativity, and the support of my family and friends. With these relationships and experiences, I am continuously inspired,” she notes.

Stone is forever grateful to her parents who have always encouraged her to pursue her education and to reach her career goals, instilling a strong work ethic in her. Her sisters have been her biggest cheerleaders throughout her life, and her husband continuously supports her decisions. Her daughter has a gift of knowing the right thing to say to her with precision timing, and a youthful wisdom that gives her perspective when she needs it most.

Deb Stone Interiors, LLC celebrates over 18 years in business this year, and is a WBENC (Certified Woman Business Enterprise) and WOSB (Certified Woman Owned Small Business) for three consecutive years. Stone supports local charities and non-profit organizations and foundations such as the Women’s Resource Center, St. Joseph’s Center, Brandon’s Forever Home, Breast Cancer Awareness and treatment programs, and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
